A huge part of moving forward in life is not focusing on the past and it’s obstacles, challenges and mistakes, more reflecting on the choices and decisions we’ve made as well as the consequences. All too often we get caught up in the mindset of. Is it worth it? I failed before and I probably will this time! It’s too difficult, I like my food and so on.
Why not approach it in a different way? What should we take from past experiences? Should we reflect on exactly WHAT didn’t work in the past! Was it our expectation? Our effort? Our persistence and perseverance? Or the diet we followed. It worked short-term but was too restrictive for real-life? The results? I’m sure that there are many more, however the real secret is WHAT STOPPED YOU!!! That is the one thing that you can change especially when you know what it was.

Reflections are not just for a mirror image, it’s reflecting on where you were, where you are now and where you really want to be. Lower your expectations, surely any progress is better than none, and if you only think about it and don’t take action you will be moving in the opposite direction. That’s a world away from where you want to be and will leave you feeling despondent and downhearted, and for many of us that’s a path directly to the food!!!
Most of us CAN follow a set diet for a limited amount of time, and that’s fine if you need to lose a few lbs, but when it’s more than a few lbs it’s really got to be a lifestyle change that’s liveable, sustainable and achievable. Use your reflections not just as a wistful waste, but as a positive focus towards your future having now learned what didn’t work.
Your future IS in your OWN hands, YOU CAN decide what you want and then go for it and MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Self-confidence is a superpower. Once you start to believe in yourself, the magic starts happening.

Very true. I often focus on why I know I can’t do it rather than how simple it is to make small changes.

When I reflect and look back to how I felt before, I was unhappy and didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I have now found something that works for me and if it wasn’t for Jackie I wouldn’t be were I am now with my journey. Sometimes you have to reflect back and look forward 😊
