Waiting for a sign??

Sometimes life just trundles along and we sail along with it, then something happens that sharpens our mind and points us in a different direction, or changes our focus…..

Often called a “Light bulb” moment.

Maybe looking at those summer holiday photo’s that we’re not so happy with! Uniform fitting a bit snug? Found out your favourite jeans/trousers and they don’t fasten. Could be a nod to Summer eating that has been allowed free rein with BBQ’S, days out, holidays, picnics and of course the weather!!! Is this the sign?

A heads up that Autumn is on it’s way, followed very quickly by Christmas!! A time when possibly everyone in Britain allows themselves more freedom and flexibility to indulge in all those high caloried foods and drinks!

Possibly your body has changed and won’t tolerate the type of foods that it always has in the past, could be heartburn, acid reflux, chronic stomach cramps. All of these could be attributed to the food that is eaten.

It can be a health scare a simple routine well person visit to the doctor that throws up a significant warning, for example blood pressure? High cholesterol? Type 2 diabetes? Your weight? This IS a sign that things need to change. So the changes needed will be – more activity, your 5 portions of fruit & vegetables, portion sizes, liquid intake? more water less alcohol!! Snacking? Sort it out! More protein, slightly less carbohydrates! More focus – less waffling!

Life has a way of showing us that what we’re doing isn’t working – it’s time for change. If that change needs to come about for the benefit of improved and better quality health then it can be a more successful reason to continue that change – after all, no-one has ever said…

I can stop now I’m the healthiest it’s possible to be!!!
