Have you got one?

As we get older and there is more of life behind us than in front of us, that can be the turning point when the things we want to do in life become more urgent, and our thoughts turn towards things that we want to do while we still have time and possibly our health.

Somehow the years have slipped away and there may be things that you still want to say you’ve seen, places you’ve always wanted to visit, mountains you want to climb, valleys you want to explore and rivers and sea’s you want to swim in. Hobbies you want to take up, new things to learn. All to often we put off doing things we’d love to do for so many reasons, too busy, work, too expensive etc. We feel that we can always do it later, but none of us know how many later’s we have!!!

We often hear from members who have found a new lease of life due to losing weight with us and are feeling happier and healthier ” I wish Success Lies In Mind was around 20 years ago, I would have never had a weight problem” Of course it could be argued that being overweight shouldn’t affect the things you want to do in life, and obviously that is true. However, extra weight is often not the only excess baggage we carry around, it’s the low self-esteem, confidence, lack of get up and go, as well as the additional strain extra activity can put on your body and health issues.

Unfortunately delaying doing some things until you get to your ideal weight could be slowing your progress for example swimming or joining a gym. The thought of buying fitted exercise clothes or swimsuit may be stopping you, but, the more gentle activity you do will significantly improve your general well-being, mood, confidence and of course your shape!!

Part of life is looking both back, not with regret and learning, but also forward and not with dread. Taking control of your future really is in your hands, don’t let your bucket list be determined by your weight!!!

Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

  1. I like to plan ahead and get things done as soon as possible rather than put them off. Putting off taking care of your weight until you get the next thing that might make it difficult out of the way – a celebration involving a meal, staying with friends, going on holiday, is definitely a mistake because as soon as that one is out of the way there is always another on the horizon!

  2. All very very true. Live for today. You can’t change yesterday and you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Enjoy every day and do what you can.

  3. It’s confidence and I can do attitude. Don’t let others put you down or put you off, for example going to the gym wearing that gym gear. You don’t need to do that a brist walk in the air is as important.
Do the things you what to do. Not what others want you to do. Go with your your gut
