Starting Over…..

Now the summer is drawing to a close, our holidays have all been taken, with just the memory and the photographs to remember them by, it could be that looking at those photo’s remind you of how fabulous you looked, how healthy and glowing you were, how stunning that outfit was and how well it fit. Or it could be shock and horror, you really didn’t realise how you actually looked.

The children have begun the Autumn term, and so maybe it’s time for you to resume your journey towards the person you really did want to be?

We often see people, who for various reasons, haven’t been able to continue with their meetings, and they all tend to say……

I really DO want to come back, BUT I’m feeling really ashamed and embarrassed and am scared to return. We always reply DON’T BE. That’s what we’re here for. The shame should never be for trying, for us it’s so much worse if you just give up , as it’s that person who keeps trying, eventually does succeed! What’s that saying…Try, try and try again!!!

Starting over should not be seen as weakness, more of a strength, it’s facing the problem and acknowledging you need help, and you know 100% you will get that in your weekly meetings, we are all aware that in order to achieve our goals, we will have to compromise, learn and change attitudes, and who knows, maybe, just maybe this time will be the magic time!! But, if you never give it a go, sadly you will never know.

  1. There is definitely no shame in starting over. I have been in that position many times and many times Jackie and her team have welcomed me back and helped me along in my journey. I’m proud of were I am today and continue with my meetings to get the support I need 😊

  2. I think it’s so important to draw a line. In the past I’ve often given up, but I’m proud to say with SLIM I never feel that I have had to give up, instead I dust myself down, put my big girl pants on and start all over again…drawing a line and starting again is hard but always feels good once your back on track xx

  3. It does take a deep breath to come back after a break, but it’s always worth it and the welcome you get makes you realise you should never have stayed away (note to self!!)
