Well Done Me!!!

It can be really easy to focus on the negatives in our lives, and lose sight of the positives. Sometimes we need a little help to re-focus and to think about all the things we have achieved and should feel proud of, all too often by being disparaging of the major wins we’ve had so far on this journey.

As the summer draw to a close many of us are beating ourselves up about – Not being at being the weight we wanted/Not having worked as hard as we could have/Feeling like we have wasted so many opportunities this summer.

So now is a perfect time to sit and reflect back on exactly what we have achieved up to now..

  • How many of you have been able to do for the first time things you maybe had put off before?
  • How many of you felt good for the first time at a celebration/holiday?
  • How many of you have had compliments?
  • How many of you have tried on and brought smaller clothes, or managed to re-visit your wardrobe and wear items you didn’t before?
  • It’s not just the smaller clothes it can be the style/colour/age/type (boots/jeans)
  • How many of you have stopped being a couch potato? What do you do?  How do you monitor it?
  • How many of you have achieved better health because of your weight loss?
  • How many of you have developed better eating habits for both you and your family? What have you used that’s helped?

And as well as all these things to be grateful for we also have lost weight!

Focusing on, and being thankful for, what’s going right in your life can hugely raise your levels of happiness, positivity, and pride. We also feel happier, more energetic, hopeful, optimistic, positive and satisfied with our lives. We are much more likely to continue the healthy habits and behaviours that are working. Everyone of us should take time out to celebrate us!!

It should also be noted that had you not stuck with it, what exactly could and probably would have happened!! If you stop doing what is working, it stands to reason you will revert back to what you did before, and that was why you began your journey!!

  1. I started going to a dance exercise class on Friday mornings. It’s good fun and it exercises parts that just walking doesn’t.

  2. What a lovely uplifting blog. Thank you 😊 I’m my worst enemy I set unrealistic goals then beat myself up when I don’t reach them. I should be proud that I keep on trying and have kept a big chunk of the weight I lost off.

  3. I’ve given up being a couch potato, have completed Couch to 5k and now running regularly. Next to add in some weight/resistance training to tone up!
