Thomas Edison was told he was too stupid to learn anything. He tried over 1,000 times until he got it right – BUT he never gave up!
J.K.Rowling was told to get a day job, it’s impossible to make a living writing children’s books. Twelve publishers rejected Harry Potter!
Ludwig Van Beethoven was rejected for a position at the Royal Theatre and was completely deaf by the age of 44, despite this he continued to compose wonderful compositions.

Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basket ball team, he carried on regardless. He is now acclaimed as the best basketball player of all time.
Walt Disney was fired from his first animation job as he had no imagination or good ideas.
Elvis Presley was told he couldn’t sing! He’d be better off returning to Memphis and continuing to drive trucks!

Steven Spielberg got rejected from film school 3 times.
Albert Einstein didn’t speak until he was 4 years old, didn’t read until he was seven, was expelled from school and failed the admittance to Zurich polytechnic school.
Rudyard Kipling he was fired from a newspaper because he was told by an editor, I’m sorry Mr Kipling, you just don’t know how to use the English language.

James Dyson spent over four years developing a new vacuum cleaner, he tested 5,126 prototypes until he finally got it right, his invention was rejected by all the major manufactures so he opened his own company. His life is illustrated by many failures, but defined by the many products and technologies he has both developed and inspired others.

Of course there is a powerful message. All of these people chose to ignore everyone and everything that conspired against them, had they never persevered, they would never have succeeded, they believed in themselves totally, and despite the many setbacks and disappointments, they picked themselves up, dusted themselves off and gave it another try.
It is most definitely true that those who succeed and then stop trying – FAIL, those that fail but keep on trying eventually do Succeed! The taste of success is so much sweeter when you’ve worked so hard for it!!
Make sure you enjoy your journey, make it the best it can be, pack it full of flavours, textures and variety, enjoy every mouthful and celebrate the wins along the way, make more effort on the journey and the destination will come far quicker!!
But maybe most importantly never believe those that say “It Can’t Be Done”
Somebody said it couldn’t be done
EDGAR ALBERT GUEST
but he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t”, but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face, if he worried he hid it
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Somebody scoffed: “Oh you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it”;
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go for it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done”, and you’ll do it.
An interesting read whilst sat eating my tasty salad 😁

great read, some interesting facts and the message is so true… so many obstacles and so many things that get in the way and suggest it cannot be done, but I guess the important message is to keep going, it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon and a lifetime commitment to ourselves! We will get there together xx

Good read. I find it helps to have a stubborn streak 🙃🙃. Though I think Beethoven could have been a bit kinder to sopranos😂😂😂🎶🎶.

That made me cry. I get overwhelmed by it’s too late to try and what’s the point. But on my holiday of a lifetime I felt ugly and old. Not because everyone around me looked better. Because I’m sad to report many looked unfit, overweight and happy to still indulge those habits that led them to get to that place. But I got in the lift every day with mirrors on all sides and felt ashamed. I called it the lift of shame. I still had a wonderful holiday and saw things I’ll never forget. But sadly the view of myself in those mirrors was one of them x
