One of the worst things to bounce back from is missing your weekly meeting after having had a challenging week! When you stop and think about it rationally, you joined because you struggled on your own and needed support, and just because you’ve had a difficult week you give up! That’s defeatist and only makes the following week more difficult, remember, you came for support!!! This is often why people with a weight problem are constantly battling with it. It’s far more connected to your mind – make this time different

One of the most basic ways to bounce back from a setback is to go back to using the tools that you used to start with. Ask yourself what has changed, and how can you work with it!

Using your food diary to plan and record honestly!! Have you stopped filling it in? Are you bored with the food you’re eating? Have you stopped planning healthy meals? Fed up with cooking? Bulk cooking might be the way forward. Or check these out Slow Cooking Summer…

Not drinking water H2O Lots of advice here!

An overindulgence of treats, too much grazing instead of filling, satisfying and healthy food? Time to try something different!!!!

Brushing off a setback by telling ourselves we’ll handle it later can lead to further damage and inaction that can get in the way of our progress, prolonging the journey which can be very detrimental if you have a weight loss goal in mind.

Research shows that people who respond quickly after setback of overeating are more likely to maintain their weight than those who don’t.

It is estimated that we have thousands of thoughts per hour – and many of our thoughts repeat. By noticing when we are brushing things off and creating a plan for what steps we’ll take to respond, we can keep ourselves on track.

We can ALL bounce back following a setback – don’t bury your head in the sand, don’t over think it, put too much importance on it – close the chapter and begin a new line…..
