Deep Holes

I walk down the street.

There is a deep hole in the path, I fall in. I am lost… I am hopeless.

It isn’t my fault.

It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the path

I pretend I don’t see it.

I fall in again.

I can’t believe I’m in the same place.

But it isn’t my fault.

It still takes a long time to get out.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the path.

I see it is there.

I still fall in…It’s a habit

My eyes are open; I know where I am;

It is my fault.

I get out immediately.

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the path.

I walk around it.

I walk down another street.

I am sure that many of us can identify and relate to this. Hopefully making us spend some time considering what our “deep holes” are?

When you think about the deep holes you fall into time and time again we need to start thinking about what strategies we can use to get out of the “deep hole”?

Avoiding the “deep hole” might take some time to come up with a strategy that works for you personally but it can be something as simple as remembering why it is so important to you to be healthy or something as simple as not adding a certain food to your shopping trolley. Is your shopping trolley making you fat?

Some “deep holes” are unavoidable but with careful thought and planning we can stop it being so catastrophic to our efforts to eat healthily.

Just remember it’s natural for this to happen, If we were all perfect none of us would be where we are now and the secret to success is discovering the problem, identifying what techniques and strategies enable us to change the outcome. In fact the key here is to identify the holes you may fall into before you actually fall.
