The Power of Yet!!

I’m sure you are all aware of the impact your thoughts can have on your positivity and mindset. Every day we have thousands of thoughts some helpful and some not. Knowing the difference between them, and being conscious that you DO hold the power to change them can have a huge impact on your results. Obstacle or Opportunity?

Looking ahead to the type of week you are expecting routine/social week and looking for techniques that allow you to be in control of either, rather than not making any plans which can leave it very much in the hands of the Gods! You either plan to succeed or you are planning to fail!

Unhelpful thoughts can lead us to act in ways that undermine our progress, we are all guilty of using words such as – Can’t, won’t, shouldn’t, didn’t, isn’t, don’t. If you already feel it’s a write off week, then it probably will be just that!! Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – YOU ARE RIGHT!!! In short it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Remember what we think affects how we feel, which drives the choices we make and affects our confidence, self esteem and also our results!

It can be quite a revelation how the words you are choosing to use influence not only your choices, but also effect other people’s interpretation/underlying understanding of what you actually mean.

For example: “I’m trying to be good and I really shouldn’t….” what are you actually saying? Is it oh, ok go on then, or NO! Simply by being mindful of the words you choose can influence the outcome, and it’s not just the words you choose to use it is also how you say “No thanks” (which actually is a statement with no room to sway!)

It can also be the words you use to yourself regarding your healthy journey For example: My medication hasn’t changed since I stated losing weight.

Try this … My medication hasn’t changed… YET!

My favourite outfit doesn’t fit… YET!

I’m not drinking enough water… YET!

I’m not as active as I shoud be… YET!

My clothes size hasn’t changed… YET!

In fact you could apply the power of YET to every aspect of your journey and life. It can totally uplift your mood, your mindset and also your future!!!

  1. my meds haven’t changed, I haven’t got a fav outfit yet, I always drink loads of water, I’m now more active, my clothes size hasn’t changed yet. I know things will change I don’t need to say yet because I know it will .

  2. Totally agree. Mindset is the most important tool. Get that right and you’re ready to roll. Then your satisfied with your progress because you believe in yourself and so you know that although you aren’t where you want to be Yet it’s there waiting ❤️
