When does the journey end?

As the Autumn progresses and Winter draws ever near with all the Halloween, Bonfire and Christmas items flooding the shops!! It can be quite noticeable how the focus and motivation slides away. This can be the time that many may think “what’s the point” Holidays and Summer have gone with only the memories and photo’s left behind, next year feels like a lifetime away and the habits begin to sneak back in. It could be oh so tempting to have “a little break” and pick it all back up in January (usually the end of January as you want to try and get some weight off before your return!)

With all of the many years experience we at share, it’s extremely unlikely that anyone returns to their meeting/journey lighter than when they left!! If it was that easy to maintain discipline, motivation, inspiration and healthy eating – you wouldn’t have needed to join!!!

To be successful long term it’s mindset that needs to change. This journey is a perpetual circle – with no end and no beginning. There WILL be another Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. It happens EVERY Year

Even though most of us hate re-starting, Fresh Start??? surely it’s better to have that fresh start each week in your meeting than being miserable, and losing the same lbs that you have already lost!! Sick of being a Yo-Yo Dieter?? New Horizons……

New Year will soon be here, in fact whilst many of us may dread the Winter months, the shortest day is on Sunday 21st December, and from there on in each day gets a little lighter till Spring is here.

Make this time the time when you don’t give up on you, you dig deep and persevere. You CAN succeed, and when Summer arrives in 2026 you’ll be ahead of the game, in control, lighter, happier and healthier, not dreading those hot & uncomfortable days when nothing fits and you find yourself saying “If only & I wish!”

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit – rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow – you may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man;

Often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor’s cup;
and he learned too late when the night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out – the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and when you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar;
so stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit – it’s when things seem worst, you must not quit.

  1. for me, realistically the journey will never completely end, there will always be a tempting detour, pop in somewhere, a derailment then a signpost to a new destination.
