As the Festive Season fast approaches, it might be worth taking a step back from all the manic perfect present searching, sourcing and buying to consider where you are on your healthy journey, take stock and readjust or refocus as necessary depending on where you feel you are at this time. It’s all too easy to get caught up in the maelstrom of the run up to Christmas and put your journey on hold. At this time of year, you can find you stop putting yourself first that can often mean less thought goes into your choices. It’s at this time of year you’re at most risk from colds and flu, so actually it’s crucial to continue getting those vital vitamins, nutrients and minerals to help your body fight them off.

You also need to be thinking about how you want to look and feel this Christmas, is there a particular outfit you really want to wear and look good in? Get it out of the wardrobe and hang it up where you can see it to keep that focus strong, remember out of sight can be out of mind!!

A few questions you need to ask yourself….

Are you happy with your progress? Would you be happy to stay where you are now? Are you planning on losing more weight for Christmas? Are you already factoring in extra activity? In short, it’s time to take stock!

Now your mindset is engaged…… Decision Time

What CAN you do to refocus? Are your meals exciting, filing and satisfying? Have you slipped into old habits and grabbing anything foe quickness? Have you stopped doing regular activity now the nights are shorter and it’s cold and wet? Does activity need to be outside? Of course not, look at what you CAN do inside, make it fun and make time to do it regularly, losing inches WILL make a difference to how your clothes fit!!

Realise deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the now the primary focus of your life.

  1. This is such a good post for those who maybe struggling. To readjust and refocus, I must admit I’ve had to do that a few times. I can say that I’m happy with were I am if I lose more fine but if not it’s no bother. I am happy with the way I am. I don’t really have a nice dress for Christmas as we don’t really dress up but I know if I did it would feel very positive in it 😊
