Just a Dream????

When we were younger, I’m sure we all spent a considerable amount of time daydreaming about our future and all the amazing things that life would have in store for us. I know, for some, it was the incredible job we would secure and be fantastic at, for others the fairy tale romance, dream wedding with all it’s accompaniments, the perfect life we would have together with our wonderful offspring, in of course, our ideal home!!

And life plods on, and those dreams stay just as dreams rarely becoming reality, as all too often we forget that in order for dreams to come true we WILL have to be dedicated, determined and focused. It WILL take time and plenty of hard work. There WILL always be setbacks and disappointments, but we accept that and carry on dreaming…

When we reach a milestone in our lives, for example a significant birthday or a New Year and it can be an opportunity to reflect back on all those dreams, but also an opportunity to consider exactly where you are in life, if you’re happy? or not? Are there things you want to alter/change? Can you? Will you?? Or will you just continue as you have since the last birthday/New Year!!

Everyone dreams, some are the most terrifying, scary nightmares that you have to force yourself to wake from, often they remain with you for quite some time. Then there’s those absolutely fantastic dreams, the ones you really don’t want to wake up from, the ones that fill your heart with joy and happiness and may impact your whole day they were so powerful.

Many of us dream about looking and feeling the very best we can and whatever stage of life we may be at, all aches, pains and illnesses banished, as well as lines and wrinkles!! Perfectly proportioned, lithe slim bodies, with shiny flowing locks of wonderful hair and pristine white gleaming teeth .

And then, you wake up and….

But, you have the power to turn dreams into reality and if the dream was SOOO important we Will do whatever it takes!! Healthy eating, getting your 5 a day, balancing your meals, staying hydrated and regular activity, learning new behaviours and replacing unhelpful habits are the key to being successful! Sick of being a Yo-Yo Dieter??

  1. Love this. It makes you aware of your journey and how far you have come. Yes we can dream of looking and feeling great but it’s the work you need to put into make it reality. Making sure we drink plenty and write a food diary so we know what we’ve had during the day. It’s been lovely this bank holiday weekend and I’ve spent most of it out in the garden sorting it out. 😊

  2. Dreams can be wonderful, dreams of what you would have loved to have done. Then you wake up and realise it was a dream.As I am replying to this Abbas song came on called I Have a dream . My dream has always been to be healthy and loose weight and Jackie is helping me succeed.
