Here it is, the first full month when the longer days start to really take effect. The flower for April is the humble daisy, but isn’t it stunning and really brightens up the garden. Actually, one of the tips for April is…
Try a new hobby – Maybe it’s one you used to do and life got in the way, so a chance to re-visit it? April is the very best time to enjoy the colours and fragrances of spring as we transition from winter to summer, why not take time to prepare the garden for summer planting? Maybe try some windowsill herbs or flowers, the daisies for example. It is so satisfying to see them blossom and grow as well as learning the skill of being patient and not expecting overnight miracles!!! While the weather may be unpredictable, sunshine and showers are the perfect growing conditions!

Cook a healthy and nourishing meal – April can bring challenges with what to eat, it’s not yet salad days, but stews and casseroles aren’t quite hitting the spot! Slow Cooking Summer… slow-cooker Summer Sensation Have quite a few ideas and of course cookbooks and the internet are fabulous tools to assist in a bit of planning and focus!

De-clutter – This can mean many things to different people, it can be “spring cleaning” basically getting rid of all the winter grime/cobwebs/windows or even to the next level – decorating!! Or it could simply be sorting out your winter clothes ready for the Spring and Summer wear – can also be very uplifting when you try on something that didn’t fit and now does!! Or even the reverse used to fit and now is pulling a bit!! Sorting out drawers which barely shut! Remember the old saying “A tidy house a tidy mind”Spring Forward Spring Rolls?????
Our spring has come with the soft laughter of April suns and shadow of April showers
