


Today is the 3rd Monday in January, more recently re-named as “Blue Monday” and labelled the most depressing day of the whole year!!
Do you think that knowing it’s the most depressing day of the year can influence your day?
Would your day have felt different if you’d never heard of it? The power of influence can affect a huge amount of both your mindset and also focus Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – YOU ARE RIGHT!!!
You may be wondering why has the 3rd Monday of January acquired this miserable label?
The 3rd Monday of the New Year has been awarded the gloomy title of “Blue Monday” because of a combination of post-Christmas blues, cold dark nights and the arrival of unpaid credit card bills.

We can choose to be influenced or we can choose to ignore it. If it’s due to the arrival of the credit card bill, leaving opening it until Tuesday won’t really make that much difference, thereby breaking that one.
Cold short winter days can impact your mood, simply due to the lack of daylight.(Seasonal Affective Disorder) SAD for short, if you can relate to this, there are lots of things you can easily do to make a difference How SAD are you? However, the shortest day passed in December and the days ARE getting longer and Spring is around the corner so something to look forward to! Spring
This time of year is the perfect opportunity to look forward and probably book your summer holidays ( every other advert on TV is about getting away!) With that booking tends to come an app for you to count the hours until you go, but why not fast forward in your mind to what YOU want to be wearing and feeling this year! Now is the perfect time to get focused and start working summer-bodies Hoping things will change without you having to make compromises and changes will leave you feeling exactly how you did last year! Waiting for the longer days, warmer weather could all be too late!! So to avoid a last minute panic of “Nil by Mouth” start today what you want to be tomorrow.

As the end of January approaches it could help to reflect on how your January has gone? Are you putting in 100%? Could you do a little more? Are your meals leaving you full and satisfied? Physical and Mental Satisfaction Do you need to plan more? Shop wiser? Check your portion sizes?
All of these things are in your control, so let’s focus not on Spring Rolls????? Instead why not focus on making sure you Spring Forward
Blue can be so many shades, choose the shade you feel will best work for you, just because others feel it’s the worst day of the year – there’s no reason why YOU should let them influence you!
