With that thought in mind, let’s have a look at some top tips that can support us along as January heralds the start of this chapter of 2026…
A brilliant one to start us off is:
Learn from our mistakes – For many, this is an easy one post Christmas! Wasted opportunities? Impulse buying of un-necessary food and drink! Too many luxury indulgent foods? Missing 3 meals a day!! It could also be a perfect opportunity to do a “dry January” A chance for your body to recover!! H2O

Get back to Healthy Eating A.S.A.P 5 A DAY – No missing meals, no snacking Snack Free?? Focus on the now! You are at the start of 2026 – Make it a great one!!

Set realistic goals – Not just weight loss goals, why not begin an activity one? Remember to start small and anything over that is is a bonus! If you aimed to walk an extra 10 steps a day, every day! Imagine where you could be over a year? One Day or Day 1??

Practice Mindful Eating – Being mindful includes so many areas, planning meals, making a shopping list and stick to it!! If you’ve fallen into the snacking trap over Christmas, NOW is the time to hit back hard. If add up the calories in the foods that you’ve snacked on, it’s often higher than a full day’s calories when it’s healthy eating! Resist the areas of the supermarket you KNOW you need to! If all else fails….
Breathe in and out 10 times until the temptation goes/passes.
We all get the exact same 365 days.
