Twas the night after Christmas and all through the house…..

Twas the night after Christmas and all through the house,

Nothing was stirring not even a mouse,

Till down in the kitchen a small light came on

As the fridge door was opened – whose willpower had gone?

Trifle and cream, cheeses and cake –

All kinds of goodies for Santa Claus sake,

But a moment of pleasure on secretive lips

Means weeks of endeavour to slim down those hips.

So think before nibbling and weigh up what you do

Let’s start the New Year with a positive you!

The week between Christmas and New Year can feel very flat, odds are we’ve overindulged, had everything we wanted to eat and drink, and probably more because “its Christmas”. There may feel little point in trying to be ‘good’ as of course we’ve got the New Year celebrations to come! So we can end up eating all the leftover items, snacking rather than eating proper meals, eating the chocolates that didn’t get eaten – usually the ones no-one likes toffee pennies! Possibly doing more damage on your mindset and weight than the whole of Christmas.

The week following Christmas is also time for reflection on the past year, a line from John Lennon’s song “War is over” springs to mind “Another year over and what have you done?”

It may be you are thrilled at the progress you have made on your new healthy journey and are raring to continue in the new year, or it may be you need to start/re-start it in the New Year.

IF WE SPENT MORE TIME FOCUSING ON THE WEEKS BETWEEN NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS RATHER THAN THE WEEK BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR, WE WOULD ALL MORE SUCCESSFUL!

As the year draws to a close your thoughts need to turn to what you would like to achieve in 2022 and how you will make it happen. The most important asset you need is the belief that you CAN and WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Acknowledge that it will take time, it will take determination, it will require change, it will require commitment, it will be as easy or as difficult as you choose to make it. Having support, motivation, encouragement and good advice on your journey will all contribute to your success, and that’s exactly what you get in your meetings every week

Making a big life change is pretty scary,

But, know what’s even scarier? Regret!

ZIG ZIGLAR

Don’t let 2022 be the year of regret, I wish, if only’s, another wasted year waiting for the magic…. Come along and let the magic begin!!

  1. The festive damage has been done but its only temporary! The week after Christmas is a time for reflection and planning for the year ahead. I’m already planning my healthy meals as part of my new self-care regime. I’m actually looking forward to salads! And I’m really looking forward to the meetings!
