I’m sure you’ve all noticed that the nights are getting lighter, the birds are in full chorus and the snowdrops, daffodils and all the perennials are putting out their shoots!!

Gardening – getting your garden ready for the summer and it won’t be long until you can hear are the lawnmowers, and the smell of fresh mown grass.

Spring cleaning/Decorating – that welcome burst of sunshine shining through the winter grime and showing up all the marks/dust.

  • Activity – getting more active as you get lighter
  • Mindful eating instead of mindless eating 

Of course you can can get a weight loss with only 1 of the Pillars but you will be more successful if you embrace all three!

The basics of healthy eating are available to everyone, 5 A DAY, but actually it’s a lot to do with Physical and Mental Satisfaction If you are enjoying the food you’re eating, you’re less likely to feel deprived which makes the journey so much more pleasurable and sustainable.

Often it comes down to priorities, missing your weekly meeting in favour of half an hour in the gym won’t give you the mindset, the behaviour change, tactics, ideas, inspiration and motivation that you will need to both acquire a healthy lifestyle as well as sustainable weight loss for life!

The scientific data confirms that weight loss is an 80/20 split.

That means to be successful 80% comes from your healthy eating and 20% comes from your activity So if you are missing your 20% from activity what could you do about it? How will you fit it in so that it becomes a regular habit and not a high days and holidays event? Best Foot Forward…..

  1. Sunshine definitely makes you feel better, it helps with your activities.I have been spring cleaning and not even thought about having a biscuit at 11 with my coffee. It makes you feel a lot happier.

  2. Sunshine really lifts your mood and makes you want to do things. I’ve cleaned windows outside today and walked 6 miles Saturday and 6 miles on Sunday!

  3. finding something positive in every day is part of my 80% always because that helps with food choices. Getting out and about whether walking the dogs gardening or just sitting eating lunch in the sun follows on and is mixed in with the 20%.

  4. loving the lighter days makes me feel so much brighter. Getting two pillars so far and I’m hoping as the weather improves I’ll get going on walking again. Been on the vitamins too, C&D and think I’m feeling the benefit but also look forward to taking them in the morning. Since I’ve given up sugar for weeks following the Glucose Goddess the Vitamin C gives me a little top up 😊
